What's the recommended strategy for dealing with ffmpeg crashes under Windows ?
I've got a few pieces of content that cause ffmpeg to crash instantly, spawning the typical Dr. Watson idiot window (i.e. "send a bug report"). I'm still using wgw's branch as of 1/16/2008, which I presume is using the latest revision (rev11143?), with the default ffmpeg parms list.
I have a complete set of Windows development tools here at work, but not at home, so I could build another ffmpeg binary if need be. Is this something that folks would be interested in ?
I'd prefer to use a Linux box as my pyTivo server, but I don't have a sufficiently beefy machine at home that can handle transcodes.
