First install and first post. Got Pytivo installed Latest 0502 Windows installer in Vista. Running as a service I can see the shared Dir from my tivoHD and I see the tivo file that I had up loaded to my pc. Used Video redo to remove the comercials.

This is good so far I think...

Question

I want to stream and not transfer. When I select this file from my TivoHD I have the option of transfering only. Is this corect for streaming?

Thanks in advanced.

There is no just stream option.

When you choose Transfer, you are given the option of playing the stream while it is transferring. If your network is fast enough, you should be able to watch it live by giving it a little head start.

pyTivo does not stream because the Tivo does not stream.

Also, note, the tivo is a 100mbps connection, and does not support 1gbps xfers. They will happen at 100

Thanks, The main benifit is I do have other Gigabit hardware, and it gives a lot of headroom when transfering between the two.

Question Do I need to keep Tivo desktop server running?

Thanks again
