I recently got a 416play. Since I couldn't find anything on it, as far as pytivo goes, I figured I'd take the plunge and see how it works. The play edition has a gpu transcoder on it, as long as ffmpeg is compiled for it. Thankfully synology did all the work for that already. Setup is really easy
1. Make sure you can ssh into the synology
2. Install git server(use their app store)
3. Install Media server(the synology media server, from their app store)
4. ssh into the box and do a git clone of the pytivo git repo
5. your pytivo.conf ffmpeg setting should point to
as long as /volume1 is where your appstore installs go to
I know I'm missing a bunch of steps, like how to create the daemon, etc, but I'll leave that for another person, since I'm still working that out.
What does this do for you? I ran a bunch of mkv/mp4/vob/avi videos(pulling since push is still broken as of now) and I was getting about 10% cpu usage, but it was transcoding faster then realtime.
From what I understand this should work for the 415play too, but I don't have that one, so I can't verify.
