I'm new to pyTivo and I've recently replaced TiVo desktop with pyTivo and MetaGenerator3. So far things are working well and I'm able to send content and metadata from my PC to TiVo and copy TiVo content to my PC.
The question I have is that metadata is mostly going over to the TiVo, except the image tag? MetaGenerator3 has created the local image file and text file. The text file has all of the metadata (description, director, etc) but it also has an Image tag that references the correct cover art for the movie. Should I expect the image to be displayed on the TiVo? I've seen screen shots attached to other metadata discussion threads that would seem to indicate this should work?

No, images aren't transferred via the HMO protocol that pyTivo uses. The "image" keyword in the metadata is only there for the use of apps like Streambaby, which can create their own user interfaces. And the only way images get into the TiVo's playlist is if the program has a valid programId, recognized by the TiVo -- in which case, the TiVo fetches the image (and much of the metadata) from a database. There's no way for us to set the image directly. _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page
