On second thought the ts flag may have changed something. I think the "info" is lying to me. It says "TRANSCODE=YES, vCodec h264 not compatible..." but when I look at the debug output, it's doing a "-vcodec copy" with ffmpeg and transferring much faster than a full transcode.

It's doing a remux (from MP4 container to transport stream) and possibly a reencode of the audio (from AAC to AC3), rather than a full reencode of video and audio.
Ignore the "TRANSCODE=YES" stuff... it's misleading, because it appears multiple times, and most of them come from the routine being called with parameters that aren't the ones used in the actual determination. Plus, it's no longer even a simple question of yes or no, since the video, audio and container are evaluated separately. Probably this output should be changed. _________________ My pyTivo fork .
