Just an FYI that since 1.0 (avutil ~51.73) FFmpeg has integrated the qtfaststart function in case anyone wants to make any updates to that part of the code. It seems a tad quicker as well but I may be wrong.
usage is '-movflags faststart' as part of the input options. It will automatically run a second pass as part of the normal remux operation. _________________ My pyTivo fork - Read link for changes

Interesting... but I don't think it's really useful for us. It's that whole "second pass" thing. Either we stream (in which case everything has to happen in the first pass), or else we write to a temporary file (in which case we already have the code to handle that). _________________ My pyTivo fork .
