i have 2 tivos. One is on my account, and the other has not been added to my account. Obviously, it has a different media access key. While I can access all of the non .tivo files that I have moved to my computer, I cannot access the .tivo files. I get the transfer to start, but get a blank video. Is there a way to have a separate MAK for this machine?

pyTivo doesn't know from MAKs. (Well, yes, you can set the MAK, but it's only used for extraction, not for serving.) The .tivo file itself is encrypted with the MAK of the system it comes from. You'll have to decrypt it to a plain MPEG file to serve it to TiVos with different MAKs. I suggest tivodecode for this purpose. (Most other .tivo decoders are front ends for this. There's also an older app called DirectShow Dump that relies on TiVo Desktop. AFAICT, tivodecode made it obsolete, but lots of people still recommend it for some reason.) _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page
