Yes, they are really both pulls in the end, but yes, the TiVo accepts a different set of file types for each method. That's just how they made it. I could tell you that the Push system was originally designed for use with podcasts; while Pull is probably meant, more than anything else, to bring back recordings that were originally taken from the TiVo. But does that really explain it? Often, we can only make inferences about the decisions of TiVo Inc.
You can slightly widen the set of native transfer types for Pull by adding the line "ts = on" to the Server section of your config. (This is still a bit experimental.) It will let you pull h.264 in transfer streams natively (remuxing to that format if necessary, from MP4, MKV, or FLV for example). _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page
