I'm working on an ebuild for gentoo, and I would like to setup an init.d script, but the sample script doesn't conform to gentoo specs.
I wanted to know what this line in the wiki page meant:
If you want to start pyTivo automatically this is a script I use. I don't know how correct it is with linux standards but it works great for me. It will dump all output to /dev/null. It also kills files not based on pid but whether they have a pytivo.py in the command that called them. This is because pyTivo will spawn new PIDs while it is being used. Hope it works for you:
Does pyTivo really change it's PID from time to time, or are you talking about spawned processes like ffmpeg?
