I'd like to organize my shows into folders, but now that Push-to-TiVo no longer works, there's no way to create or manage folders either, right?

Right now I have zillions of episodes of "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" in my Now Playing List. It would be nice to stuff them all into their own folder instead of cluttering up NPL.

Older discussions talk about editing a show's metadata to manage the folder it will be stored in. But that's only relevant if I can push shows into my TiVo, right? Or am I missing some other obvious workaround?

Grouping based on programId and seriesId in the pyTivo metadata file(<videofilename>.txt) is active for pyTivo pulls. See the discussion starting here:

https://pytivo.sourceforge.io/forum/post19188.html#19188

You can generate the metadata .txt files and search and set these Id parameters in them using Metagenerator 3:

Cool! Thanks very much.

I had assumed that pulls would ignore the metadata file, but apparently not. Thanks.

Pulls use far MORE of the metadata than pushes ever did, and metadata files predate (and now, post-date) pushing. So, that's a weird assumption. Smile
