I have pyTivo installed and running. It works, but there seems to be a problem. The transfer from PC to Tivo is painfully slow.
I have a 22 minute .avi file. File size is about 200 MB. I do a "pull" from the Tivo, and it begins transferring. It took about 23 hours to receive the complete show on the Tivo. Also, I was expecting some performance hit on my PC, but it doesn't even use 1% when transcoding the AVI file to whatever the Tivo format is. PC is totally idle.
When I watch it in the pyTivo command prompt (usually runs as a service, but i started it in command prompt), it is reporting 0 frames per second and I can watch it send frame by frame, once every 2-3 seconds. Network is 100mb wired. Tivo connects fine with the shared media folders so it seems no firewall issues. I can't figure out what is causing the slowness?
Server is Windows XP Pro SP3, using windows Firewall
Linksys WRT54G router (not using wireless for Tivo or server PC)
I also have Tivo Desktop installed and it seems to work OK, but I get trouble trying to stream mp3's from it.
The song plays like 3 secs then stops for 5 and repeats that.
Tivo itself is a Tivo HD , just got it from Sears last week. Fully updated it to the latest software.

Have you tried rebooting everything? Shut everything down and then bring up your modem/router. Then computer and tivos. I had this about a year or so ago and found that everything cleared up with a reset.
