1. Vista (32)
2. TiVo HD and Software version(9.3)
3. KRKeegan v2008.04.14

4. I use Beyond TV to record and it creates .tp files. If i rename the file to .ts and use pytivo it works great. I modified the video.ext and added .tp to the list. The files are now listed in the NPL but I can not transfer them, the error message I recieve on the tivo is no signal source. I would like to have pytivo recognize and transfer the .tp files.

pytivo.conf
[Admin]
type = admin

[BeyondTV]
type = video
path = E:\Tivo\BeyondTV

[Server]
port = 9032
ffmpeg = C:\Program Files\pyTivo\plugins\video\ffmpeg_mp2.exe

[My Videos]
type = video
path = E:\Tivo\PyTivo

Any help would be appreciated. I searched the forums and checked website FAQ and could not find a way to get this to work.

Thanks
IC

In addition to the extensions in video.ext, there's a test for '.ts' in transcode.py. This is used to mark the file as invalid (i.e., requiring reencoding). Otherwise, ffmpeg recognizes it as MPEG, and pyTivo attempts to pass it through unchanged, which doesn't work.

Find the line in transcode.py that says:

Code:
    if os.path.splitext(inFile)[-1].lower() in ('.ts', '.mpv'):

and make it:

Code:
    if os.path.splitext(inFile)[-1].lower() in ('.ts', '.mpv', '.tp'):

Okay I made the changes to transcode.py. Still having the same problems. I am assuming I have to recompile the scripts so I deleted(after I backed them up first) all they .pyc files then started pytivo. It looked like they all recompiled there were all there with new timestamps. Still did not work. I am definitely a begginer at this. Is there something more I need to do?

Thanks for the help.

I added this to the windows installer. If you download the new version it should work for you.
