I downloaded and installed Python 2.6.1 and then rebooted the system. I then installed the Windows installer version of wgw that I downloaded from the forums. I installed this as a console option and started pyTIVO from the console.
C:\pyTivo\Cheetah\CacheRegion.py:30: DeprecationWarning: the md5 module is depre
cated; use hashlib instead
INFO:pyTivo:pyTivo is ready.
From the browser I can access the web interface from both localhost:9032 and from the ip address 10.100.100.105 and I can even access it from another system.
But I never see any of my tivos trying to connect to the PyTIVO server.
I have really trimmed down my conf file but I still have no joy.
I do not see any error messages but it almost looks like the beacon server is not working or that the the tivos are ignoring it...
I had Tivo Desktop on this system before and the tivos could access the music from here without a problem. I removed Tivo Desktop before installing pyTivo. I currently do not have a firewall running on the system and all the shares open to anybody to access.
I am running Windows XP with FP3. The system is hardwired as are the tivos. Both Tivos are Philips Series 2 with 6.2a. I can transfer recordings between the tivos and access Tivo Desktop based music (when I have it installed) I am running pyTivo-wgw-2008.10.15-RC1
Any ideas of what is happening or how to troubleshoot the issue would be appreciated.
I added the beacon in as part of the troubleshooting process.
You should know, video won't work with those. But you should be able to get music working
And no, I did not know that the video would not work or rather I knew that directivos did not have a MAK but that was the beauty of pyTivo. I did not need the MAK to pull the video in.
Are you saying that even that would not work?
If that is the case then I will just go back to either Tivo Desktop or JavaHMO... Mmm Thinking about it with JavaHMO I had a video plugin that worked. Unfortunately JavaHMO was replaced by Galleon, so no new development has taken place on JavaHMO.

As I've understood it, the MAK is not the key issue -- rather, the DirecTivos just don't support TiVoToComeBack (or TiVoToGo) at all. The video transfer systems that work are based on MRV instead, or else work outside of tivoapp (like msftp). But if you tell me that JavaHMO worked, that's a surprise to me. _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page
