I've finally got around to updating the mobile UI for pyTivo (and got rid of that ugly Apple look). I've design the updated UI using "Responsive Web design" (see: https://developers.google.com/webmasters/smartphone-sites/details). Basically this means the same html is used for both phones and computers, but the formating is adjusted using CSS. The cool thing about this, is the updated UI looks like the pyTivo UI (it also means I can drop the useragent detection code). Another cool thing (at least in FireFox and Chrome) is that it's easy to test the mobile UI on a PC by making the window less than 480 pixels wide).
To get the same HTML for both full web browsers and smartphones, I've had to modify the existing web UI ever so slightly. I didn't want to break the existing UI, so I tried to only make very minor changes, and tried not to touch the CSS used by full browsers.
I've tested the web UI and mobile UI in Chrome, FireFox, IE, and Safari on Windows, and Chrome, FireFox, Opera on Android (I don't have an iPhone to test on).
