Good afternoon everyone.
I've tried, for as long as I can remember, to get MKV's with subtitles (generally subs with small non English audio) to work using pyTivo. However, for the life of me I can never seem to get these to work.
Most MKV's I have actually have the track built into the MKV, so if I play it on my computer and make sure the track is selected, no problem. I've researched this for years and I have attempted a few things but haven't had any luck.
Is there an easy way to get these subs on my Tivo? I've tried handbrake to hard code them, but that took forever and was unsuccessful. I've even seen some script added to the ffmeg but that seems beyond my experience level. Any helps or thoughts? THANK YOU in advance.
I was working on two types;
1. when there's a subtitles file you want to use
2. when there's a subtitles track you want to use (this seems to be your case)
I've pretty much scrapped the second option as I couldn't get it to consistently work. But it's not that hard to extract the subtitles track or even just download the subtitles track (from a subtitles website), then use my code with option 1. The easiest way to do this is to use my version of pyTivo (here: http://repo.or.cz/w/pyTivo/wmcbrine/lucasnz.git), it's pretty much the same as wmcbrine's with some enhancements - often these enhancements get taken up by wmcbrine (and it's great if they are - as I'd rather not have to maintain a fork off his code)...
