I had pytivo working great - love it. Then my wife needed a tivo-mini installed for her second TV. To get another ethernet socket for the Mini, I installed a linksys router (there is only one ethernet cable running to that end of the house). As you suspect, the RoamioOTA and the Mini now have ip addresses outside my main subnet so my pytivo software cannot see the RoamioOTA. Is there a trick to make the Tivo box visible to my main computer (Xubuntu 17.10) again - maybe a "route" command?

Yes, a switch should be used (although maybe you also want to use the router's WiFi capabilities?). You can almost certainly make the router work as a switch -- the simplest thing is to use only the LAN ports on the router, including for the "upstream" link, and not the WAN port. Ultimately I'd set the router to Wireless Access Point mode (if you do also want the WiFi coverage). _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page
Thanks so much for the tips. I only used this router because I had it already from an earlier setup. I do like the wifi features of it though, since that end of the house gets poor reception from the main router.
