I've been using pyTivo for quite sometime under windows but now 'm trying to get it running on Linux. I believe I have everything installed correctly, however my limited knowledge of Linux has me stumped when trying to enter the path to a share.
pyTivo is running on Ubuntu and I'm trying to point to my video files that are located on a Synology NAS. The path is \\texas\video. I can't seem to figure out the right way to enter that on the Path line in the configuration file. I'm not sure if I somehow have to do the Linux equivalent of a map to be able to specify the path. The NAS is password protected by user.
Also, you may want to consider running pyTivo directly on the NAS itself.
Thanks, that pushed me in the right direction and I was able to figure out how to mount the NAS from my Linux box.
As to why I don't just run pyTivo on my NAS, it's basically because I'm a newbie when it comes to Linux. It's no big deal if I mess up the old PC I'm running Linux on, but my family depends on the NAS. Don't want to make a mistake that causes any data loss or unavailability.
That said, I believe I have everything working now, both pushes and pulls seem to be working great.
