Fios is going in my neighborhood and I'm looking at two or three Tivo Premiers instead of the Verizon DVR but I'm really hoping to replicate the functionality I have with my current DirecTV Tivos.
Some quick background on my current setup will make my question much clearer I think.
I have (3) DirecTivo's with the old Zipper patch which enabled MRV between all three. I also run the old TivoServer software on a PC which spoofs as a MRV Tivo so I can transfer videos (xvids mostly) to each DirecTivo on the network. When a show is transferred from the TivoServer it shows up in the Now Playing List of whatever DirecTivo was being used.
This is the main two part question:
1) When a show is transferred by pyTivo does it show up in the Now Playing list of the requesting Tivo like a regular recorded TV show would?
If YES then...
If I start to watch a show and pause it I can utilize MRV on another Tivo to resume from the paused location and it MRV's from that point forward to the requesting Tivo?
Basically I'm asking if pyTivo works exactly like TivoServer does?

I have no experience with TivoServer, but a pyTivo transfer is pretty much like any MRV transfer, yes. The exception is if you use the "Push" mechanism (i.e., you start a transfer from the web interface); in that case, the recording can't be transferred to another TiVo (again, not our fault). _________________ My pyTivo fork .
